We work with doodles, retrievers, and other small breeds—all pup types that are smart and great at learning new things. After your pup stays with us, we want to return them back to you with great behaviors instilled for life. Behaviors and commands that your puppy will learn when they stay with us for our puppy obedience training course include:

• Housetraining basics
• Not to chew or counter surf 
• No jumping, barking, or biting
• How to walk on a leash
• Crate training
• Basic obedience commands, including sit, stay, come, leave it, down, and place

During the training, your pup will benefit from one hour of individual training per day, regular group training with other puppies in the program, supervised play and socialization time, and regular reinforcement of training throughout the day. 

Our Puppy Obedience Training Course Lengths

When you choose Happy Pup Manor for obedience training, you have three different course lengths to choose from. It’s important to understand that your puppy will stay at our location during the duration of the course, with our trainers working with your pup one-on-one. At the end of the course, we can bring your pup home to you and guide you through all of the commands so that your pup knows who to respond to going forward. Our course lengths are:

• 10 days
• Four weeks
• Eight weeks

Our 10-day program is great for pup owners who just want their puppy to learn the very basics. For young puppies who aren’t yet house-trained/crate-trained, however, we recommend one of our longer programs. The four- and eight-week programs are ideal for transforming pups into well-trained dogs who will demonstrate a lifetime of good behavior. If you have thoughts of training your pup to be a service dog or therapy dog, a longer stay is absolutely necessary.
