Welcome to Happy Pup Manor, where a rich legacy meets a passion for caring for our furry friends. Nestled in Grayslake, Illinois, our property has a history as captivating as the tail-wagging guests we welcome today.
Our story begins with the brilliance of Frank Lloyd Wright Jr., the architect behind our unique Illinois home. It stands as a testament to his vision, echoing innovation and creativity.
In the ’70s, philanthropist John Cuneo Jr. transformed our expansive 300+ acres into a haven for exotic wildlife. Elephants, tigers, and more roamed freely, creating a fairytale scene.
In time, the landscape changed, and Cuneo Jr. eventually sold much of the property to the Lake County Forest Preserve. 30 acres still remained, retaining the essence of its past. What sets this remaining space apart is not only its historical significance but also the thoughtful additions that have transformed it into a paradise for our furry friends.
Nestled within these 30 acres is a gated sanctuary with multiple separate gated dog yards. This unique feature adds an extra layer of security and freedom, providing a safe space for our canine companions to roam and play. The introduction of these specialized areas reflects Happy Pup Manor’s commitment to catering to the diverse needs and preferences of the dogs that now visit.
Under Gabby Sloan and Brian Thompson, Happy Pup Manor has integrated the legacy of this property with a commitment to the well-being of dogs. The echoes of elephants have been replaced by barks of pups participating in training sessions and the lullabies of those nestled in our state-of-the-art boarding facilities.
Our picturesque 30 acres provide a paradise for dog training and boarding. Nature’s symphony, once graced by exotic animals, now harmonizes with the playfulness of dogs under our care. Our commitment to excellence is not only a testament to the property’s history but a promise to every pup that visits.
