Best Dog Training Chicagoland

Getting a dog has many benefits, but also comes with a few challenges—especially if your new four-legged friend is a puppy! Fortunately, one of the easiest ways that you can reduce the stress of having a new member of the family and instill good behaviors in your pup for life is to invest in training. At Happy Pup Manor, we’re known for some of the best dog training Chicagoland. To learn more about our training programs or to get your pup enrolled today, reach out to us by phone or online.

Our Dog Training Programs

At Happy Pup Manor, we offer basic behavior training, emotional support dog training, therapy dog training, and service dog training. Before any dogs enter any of the latter three programs, we ask that they go through our basic training program first. For most pet owners throughout Chicagoland, the basic behavior training program is exactly what they’re looking for and will more than meet expectations when it comes to teaching good behavior. In this program, dogs will learn commands such as sit, stay, come, leave it, down, and place. In addition, we also teach good behaviors and help to change bad ones—for example, dogs will learn to not jump when meeting new people, not to counter-surf, and not to engage in biting/puppy mouthiness. They’ll also learn crate training and housetraining.

Our basic training program runs for three program lengths:

  • 10 days. The 10-day program is our most basic program and is ideal for pet owners who really just want their pups to learn the basics. We strongly encourage pup parents to continue working on learned behaviors and commands at home once puppies complete the 10-day program.
  • Four weeks. Our four-week program is a much more robust version of our 10-day program and will help puppies and dogs learn behaviors that stick with them. While ongoing training is encouraged, it will be to reiterate and reinforce behaviors.
  • Eight weeks. Puppies and dogs that complete our eight-week program have learned good behaviors that will last with them for life. Dogs that go through this program are ready to move into one of our other training programs at an owner’s request.

Why Invest in Dog Training?

Many new puppy parents think that they can manage dog training on their own—and sometimes they can. In most cases, though, having a new puppy or dog is a big adjustment for both of you, and undesirable behaviors like accidents in the house, chewing, and barking are all common. You can reduce your own stress, improve trust between you and your dog, and stimulate your pup by investing in dog training early on. When you work with a trusted professional like those found at Happy Pup Manor, the results are well worth it!
